DPP undressing Balaka chief for no reasons at all There are several reasons why Malawians should never forgive the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and forget what the party did to Malawians. DPP took Malawians for granted and never listened to them in any way. The party was full of stubbornness. Malawians have no kind words to the DPP because the party had employed youth cadets who were on Government salaries specifically to deal with those holding different opinions on matters of national importance. On 15 January, 2015, just for example Politial violence reared its ugly head. That was on a Sunday when the then regime thugs operating as members of the ruling DPP youth cadets attacked members of opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) at Providence Industrial Mission (PIM) where people from all walks of life had gathered to celebrate the life of the Reverend John Chilembwe. Malawians should be reminded that the notorious Cadets, dressed in their DPP regalia, started beating the opposition members in full view of the Malawi police after President Peter Mutharika, who was in attendance, had left the venue. Their target was to eliminate the then leader of opposition and current President Dr Lazarus Chakwera, but his security detail shielded him from the barbarism. During the incident three people were conscipicously seen badly wounded and one was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre for treatment. Donors and human rights activists condemned the incident describing the DPP as the party of bloodshed.
