Empty Shop of foreign national in Nchesi The Ministry of Homeland Security has condemned xenophobic attacks to people of foreign origins Principal Secretary in the Ministry, Oliver Kumbambe said this in an interview , following reports that family of foreign nationals in Nchesi was attacked and all their belongings were looted. The condemnation follows reports that some people are taking the law in their own hands attacking people from Burundi, Rwanda, Congo and other countries. Kumbambe said , nobody has such powers within the laws to snatch and loot items from foreigners. He said powers to deal with foreigners belong to Malawi Police Services and the immigration officers Few days ago, People from Nchesi pounced on a family of Congolese origin where they looted his shop and all the households. As we speak , the family is homeless. This has a capacity to tarnish the image of government on the face of international community. Minister of Homeland security Dr Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has also repeatedly condemned such behavior of being xenophobic towards foreign nationals.
