Former Malawi Heads of States and Governments on Thursday joined the Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera is presiding over the send off of Malawi’s First Lady, Madame Shanil Muluzi to her home district of Balaka. Shanil Muluzi died on Monday in Chakangawa following the Plane Crash which also killed the 9 others including the Vice President Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima. During the event former United Democratic Front (UDF) president Dr Bakili Muluzi and People’s Party leader Dr Joyce Banda were in attendance. Speaking on bebalf of Malawi leader President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, Minister of Local Government Richard Chimwendo Banda said the president is so devastated with the death of Patricia Dzimbiri. Chimwendo said Dzimbiri worked hard in fighting rights of Malawi women and children. Chimwendo hailed Madame Dzimbiri for promoting girls education. Conspicuously missing at the high profile send off ceremony was Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President Peter Mutharika.
