On 27 June, 2020, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) opposition leader Lazarus Chakwera won the country’s rerun presidential vote,

defeating incumbent Peter Mutharika with 58.57% of the vote.

Malawi’s constitutional court annulled Mr Mutharika’s victory in the May 2019 election, citing vote tampering.

The country was bitterly divided in the run-up to this week’s election.

Since his insendance into power Democratic Progressive Power (DPP) has never accepted that President Chakwera is ruling the country.

DPP has done all the tricks to unseat Chakwera from his hot seat through various means such as mercenary civil society organisations leaders and other means ie demonstrations.

All these failed because Malawians have trust in Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and his Government.

It is now clear , Chakwera is destined to reclaim his victory. He has laid down great foundation to ensure he is voted back into power come 2024.

Chakwera has invested in rebuilding the new Malawi. Chakwera has invested invested in building modern roads in the Lilongwe City.

Not only that Chakwera Government has embarked on building modern civic centres in Mzuzu City, Thyolo District Assembly, Mzimba and Mangochi.

North only that , but while people are busy castigating him he has managed to install donor confidence as we speak, International Monetary Fund (IMF) is back with the ICF facility.

We credit all this the sound leadership of His Excellency the State President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera , and his Minister , Simplex Chithyola Banda.
