Alot has been said but one thing that Malawians should remember is that Malawi is so lucky to have Preside Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera who has the welfare of Malawians people at heart.

PRICE AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT

For the starters, ESCOM uses Price Automated Adjustment System meaning that it goes according to the variable adjustment of the US Dollar.
What it means is that when the US Dollar gains power the ESCOM price automatically goes up.

ESCOM PRICE INCREASE

With the system which ESCOM increased its tarrif following the 44 percent currency adjustments, ESCOM acted within the laws to up its tarrif.

PRESIDENT CHAKWERA INTERVENTION

Addressing the nation days after his return from Egypt Malawi Leader directed that ESCOM should rescind its decision on price tarrif price adjustment and revert back to the old price,what a servant leader.

Meanwhile, Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has reversed the 40.92 percent upward adjustment it recently made on electricity tariff in response to the devaluation of the Malawi kwacha.

MERA Board Chairperson Reckford Kampanje, in a statement issued on Friday, said the reversal is in compliance with the directive of President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy
Chakwera.
