Ministry of Homeland Security tightens security ahead of festival seasons

Deploys extra manpower in all streets

The Ministry of Homeland Security has assured Malawians of tight security ahead of forth coming festival seasons.

Addressing a press conference in Lilongwe Minister of Homeland security Dr Ken Zikhale Ng’oma assured Malawians that the Malawi Police officers have been deployed in various places both some in uniforms and others in civilians while others on patrol motor vehicles.

The Minister commended the Malawi Police for investigating serial killings made and for arresting the culprits which have been happening in the country.

The Minister urged Malawi Police, to promote Police officers who are doing good job such as providing them with good housing.

The Minister also spoke highly against spreading fake news, “These people have no intelligence at all they only speak for the benefits of their own good spreading fake news,” he said.

The Minister has warned that Government will not just sit down and watch but will ensure all those sponsoring and spreading the fake news will be dealt with.

“We are now working towards festive season where a lot of atrocities accidents happen. These usually happened when people have enjoyed their lives since after taking alot of alcohol they travel at the very fastest speed, they overlord,”

He said the Ministry has taken measures that will make sure that “We control such malpractices and want to assure Malawians that police will be very active from today. Onwards, we’ll have foot soldiers that will be traveling moving in our communities to ensure that whatever happens, you have access to the police service.
