Lilongwe Water Board has received 5, 000 tree donation from G4 Security Company Services. G4 Security Company has donated the trees as part of Social Cooporate responsibility (SCR). LWB CEO SILI MBEWE LWB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sili Mbewe has since commended the company for the donation. “Lilongwe Water Board received a generous donation of 5000 tree seedlings from G4 Security company as part of their CSR initiative. With a shared commitment to environmental consciousness, G4 Security aims to promote catchment management, protect water sources, and reduce environmental degradation, ” he said. In his remarks, Eng. Gustaff Chikasema, LWB’s Director of Production and Distribution, emphasized the vital role of partnerships in environmental management. He highlighted how environmental management directly impacts water production, citing issues like erosion leading to heavy turbidity, which ultimately affects the cost of water production. Moreover, he underlined the significance of adequate rainfall from the Dzalanyama forest, which feeds the vital Lilongwe River, the Boards main water source. Chikasema further indicated that the seedlings donated by G4 Security will find their home at the Kauma WasteWater Treatment Plant, where they will contribute to improving air quality and enhancing the LWB’s efforts in environmental sustainability. Richard Malamulo, Head of Sales and Business Development at G4 Security, expressed their continued support for LWB, reaffirming the company’s dedication to catchment management initiatives.
