Member of Parliament for Nkhata-bay South constituency Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma has urged teachers to continue working hard in order to promote education in his constituency. Zikhale who is also Minister of Homeland Security made the remarks on saturday at Chatonda lodge during a meeting he held with over 70 Headteachers, Deputy headteachers and Primary Educational Advisors ( PEA) from three zones in his constituency. Ken Zikhale Ng’oma in Nkhata-Bay According to Zikhale, the meeting was aimed at mapping the way forward on how best the CDF fund can be used to promote education in his constituency. “President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera recently approved the proposal to increase CDF from 100 million kwacha to 200 million kwacha so that the local Malawians fully benefit from the national cake in terms of development,” Zikhale said. He further encouraged teachers to continue working hard as they put the constituency and Nkhata-bay district on the map through the good performance of the students. On his part PEA for Bandawe Zone Tinkhani Mphande thanked Zikhale for giving teachers a rare opportunity to air their views on how CDF can be utilized at the constituency level. Some of the important submissions from the meeting include; issues of teacher’s houses, school blocks, promotion of teachers and training as well as education visits.
