President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is leaving no any stone unturned in as far as Agriculture, Tourism and Mining strategy ( ATM) implementation is concerned.

This time around the President is expected to leave the country today 10 June, 2024, where he is destined to attend the 31st AFREXIMBANK annual meetings and Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum in Nassau, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas from 12th 14th June, 2024. The President is expected to meet more investors to come and help his Government implement ATM agenda.

In a press statement by Ministry of foreign affairs, released on 9th June, 2024, this is upon invitation and sponsorship of the AFREXIMBANK and this is an opportunity for Malawi to garner more investment and partnerships for the implementation of Malawi 2063 vision of industrialization, the Agriculture, Tourism and Mining (ATM) strategy as well as special economic zones and industrial parks initiatives.

The statement adds that apart from participating to this forum, the President will also hold bilateral talks with various political and business leaders to leverage partnerships that can accelerate the country’s development agenda.

The statement further states that the President will also attend the global peace summit in Switzerland from 15th to 16th June, 2024 as the summit will provide platform for Heads of state and government to deliberate and agree on the Ukraine Peace Forum aimed at ending the conflict in Eastern Europe and its adverse effects on global economy which include the sharp rise in prices worldwide.
