Malawi’s Vice President Dr Michael Usi has called for protection and promotion of civil rights for the elderly. Speaking in Mulanje earlier today, Usi said has heard many stories of people killing elderly people disguising them as witches. “If you hear anyone despising the elderly please let me know because by law, all those calling others witches should be prosecuted because they are witches themselves,” he said. During the same rally , Usi urged parents to send their young boys and girls to school. “If you see me hear on this position, it’s because I went to school,” he said. On the business spectrum , Usi promised youth and young people to provide them with loans. “When I met the President, we agreed to help you people with loans without collateral,” he said. On Hunger, which has affected the country, Usi pledged Government commitment on the crisis. During the rally , Senior Chief Chikumbu and other chiefs were in attendance.
