Servant Leadership: CCAP Livingstonia Synod hails Chakwera leadership  

Earlier in the day, the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia saluted His Excellency, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, for his unwavering resilience in changing the face of Malawi, despite facing many forms of resistance.

Speaking when the Clergy from CCAP Synod of Livingstonia interfaced with the President at Mzuzu State Lodge, CCAP Synod of Livingstonia General Secretary ReverendWilliam Tembo, recognised Chakwera for the good working relationship with the late Former Vice President, Rt Hon Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima.

Reverend Tembo also thanked President Chakwera for practicing clean politics stressing that the country has far more taxing socio-economic matters to focus on.

“We followed you and the late vice president so closely. This is the first time for a sitting president to work in harmony with his vice. On this we give you 10 out of 10,” said Tembo.

“We also thank you for practicing clean politics.

Reverend Tembo added that the Synod also supports Chakwera’s  Vision Malawi 2063 agenda.

“We will not be there but we want a bright future for our grandchildren,” he said.

The general secretary also praised Chakwera for facilitating the attainment of high tobacco prices this year and  for rehabilitating and reviving the once defunct railway transport system.

“Bring back all the good things that Malawi lost sometime back. We saw a train offloading fuel in Lilongwe from Blantyre. We also want the fruits of railway transport here. On this we also give you 10 out of 10,” he added.

“Electricity blackouts are a thing of the past. We also thank you for opening a way for our children to go to Israel and work.”

Reverend Tembo assured the president that the Synod will continue working with his government to develop Malawi to this end.

“Be at peace, CCAP Synod of Livingstonia is always there praying for you,” he emphasized.

In his speech, President Chakwera said it’s always a privilege to convene with the leadership of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia and added that his administration will continue holding hands with the Synod, to make Malawi a better place to live.

“You have a government that listens to people’s concerns,” he said.
