Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, has declared that the rulling Malawi Congress Party (MCP), will win the forth-coming 2025 General Elections. Speaking at the closing ceremony of a three day MCP 2024 Elective Convention at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) in Lilongwe, Chakwera said no one should cheat Malawians that MCP is losing the next year’s general elections. The convention which run from 8 to 10 August 2024, gave the chance to delegates to select new leaders into key positions to decide party policy for the next 5 years. In his speech, Chakwera advised the newly elected National Executive Committee (NEC) to work hard in strengthening the party at the grass roots. The Malawi leader thanked all delegates for their financial support towards the convention. “I thank you for your financial support unlike in the last where the rulling party used government resources to hold a meeting like this,” added the President. “Tax payers money is meant for critical issues for the benefit of Malawians.” Speaking earlier, newly elected MCP General Secretary Richard Chimwendo Banda advised all those that lost in the elections to come together and work in rebuilding the party. He called on contestants to forget the past and forge forward together, as one family. Post navigation MCP Convention: Chakwera predicts clean bill of win come 2025 VP meets Malawi community in Rwanda
