Noel Habimana’s family case against Gentile Giramata adjourned to 17 October

A case involving Gentile Giramata, a Rwandan woman is expected to be back in court on 17 October, 2024.

High court in Lilongwe today heard from state witnesses in the case where Gentile Giramata is accused of having a hand over the death of ex-husband Noel Habimana in 2022.

Two witnesses one who is a traffic surgent Kambeta told the court that he had an opportunity to see the dead body at the mortuary together with a hospital administrator who at that time was working with Kamuzu Central Hospital both told the court that the deceased person had wounds in his head.

Surgent Kambeta told the court that at the time of incident the deceased suffered head injury hence the wounding of his head.

After the two testimonies, state lawyer Dzikondianthu Malunda said he is happy with the progress of the case as well as the performance of the witnesses.

Malunda therefore asked for an adjournment of the case because some of the remaining witnesses were not available to testify.

Defence lawyer accepted the request which prompted Judge Bruno Kalemba to grant the plea to the state.

The two accused are currently on remand.
