Chithyola Banda Hypes Quality of Girl Child Education in Kasungu South

In a very happy latest development Malawi Congress Party Member of Parliament for Kasungu South Simplex Chithyola Banda is constructing a modern hostel for female students at Chigodi Community Day Secondary School in Senior Chief Santhe in Kasungu.

Speaking to this reporter on Sunday morning, the finance and economic affairs minister had this to communicate, “It is my wish to ensure that quality of primary and secondary school education improves in this constituency. As you may be of the knowledge that the globe is tirelessly fighting for advanced education for all children in line with Sustainable Development Goals. President Chakwera always encourage us to institute initiatives with capacity to sustainably elevate education for the Malawian child. As a leader, I understand that girls experience a lot of challenges in their pursuit for education. Chigodi CDSS is situated in a rural area hence the need for a modern hostel to accommodate these young stars whose passion and determination for education is overwhelmingly motivating.”

Reacting to the development, Blantyre-based education activist Lemon Ngaiyaye says, “Chithyola Banda is conversant that the best methodology of empowering girls and young women socio-economically is to invest in education. It is of no wonder, he has embarked on this project. It is interesting to see male leaders heaping their interest in education of the female gender. We all know that girls travel long distances to attain education more especially in the rural areas. Chithyola Banda as a Member of Parliament has demonstrated the highest love and care for girls of Kasungu South. He is a leader.”

Meanwhile, constituents have hailed the parliamentarian describing him as a friend of girls.

“He is good. He knows what to do. He knows why to do. He knows how to do. He knows when to do. What a fantastic leader. He is a girls’ friend,” say people of Chigodi.
