Chakwera hailed for giving Kasungu a new face

Malawians resident in Kasungu District home of the first President Ngwazi Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda are in praise of Malawi leader President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera for spending his energy in developing the district.

Chakwera is being fingered as the first ever president who has really given more resources in as far as infrastructure development is concerned.

For the starters , Kasungu has been known to be a Tobacco growing district. Many people view Kasungu as a high profile district being the home to the late president Ngwazi Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda.

Although Kasungu wore that high profile jacket Kasungu was was still a lagging behind in terms of developments.

After Kamuzu Banda demise , all the presidents failed to develop the district because it was deamed to be an opposition district.

In June 2020, Malawi voted in power Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera this is the President who has completely changed the face of the district.

Only few years in office , Kasungu has a modern Stadium , Kasungu has modern roads, Modern judiciary complex which comprises of courts and judicial offices.

Kasungu has modern roads under the current regime connecting from M1 going into town.

Damiyano Banda from Chamwabvi Estate commends Chakwera for changing the face of Kasungu.

Banda gave an example of Livwezi bridge currently under construction in the area of Madalitso Kazombo (Kamatcheni ) constituency.

“President Chakwera has really changed the face of this district. The previous Governments neglected this district,” he said.
