Malawi president Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has today officially commissioned 20 houses belonging to the Malawi Police Services at Bangwe Police Sub Station. Out of 20 houses which have been constructed by Plimo Construction company, five are for senior police officers and 15 for juniors. New Lease of Life for officers Chakwera’s administration is building 10,000 security houses for Malawi Police, Immigration Department, Malawi Prison Service and Malawi Defence Force (MDF). He, earlier on Wednesday, inspected progress of similar projects. Commencing the inspection at Mitole Police Station in Chikwawa, the President observed significant progress, with 30 houses nearing completion, including 6 for senior staff and 24 for junior staff. The housing units are currently at 85% completion. The President’s visit emphasizes government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and facilities for law enforcement agencies across the country.
