Blantyre Synod of the CCAP has pledged to work with President Lazarus Chakwera and his government as partners in fostering the country’s development. This has been disclosed during the audience President Chakwera held with the Synod’s leadership at Sanjika Palace in the Commercial city of Blantyre on Tuesday, 16th January 2024. In his remarks, General Secretary for the Synod, Reverend Anderson Juma said Blantyre Synod is committed to collaborate with government in various projects including construction of hospitals and schools for country’s sound development. “We as a Synod are committed to work with your government in sectors including Health and Education. As such, our prayer is that the Almighty God continues blessing you, Your Excellency, by granting you good health and ensuring continued success of your leadership” Said Rev. Juma. Further, through Rev. Juma, the Synod committed to fostering contact and dialogue during time of challenges for collaborative solutions. Synod’s Moderator, Reverend Humphreys Zgambo in his remarks commended President Chakwera for providing servant leadership which Zgambo said has instilled hope and inspiration in Malawians, assuring Chakwera of the Synod’ unwavering support in all sectors. In his address, President Lazarus Chakwera appealed for the church leadership to play a leading role in delivering message of hope to Malawian citizens, saying he recognizes the challenges facing the country but still there is hope of a better Malawi if all Malawians hold hands towards making Malawi better for all. Chakwera further said he remains committed to work with the church in serving Malawians to realize 2063 vision, hence the need for the church to be open-up. President Lazarus Chakwera is in the Southern region for a number of government engagements.
