By Kondanani Chilimunthaka President Lazarus Chakwera on Monday, 5tu February 2024 described the formulation of the National Planning Commission (NPC) as helpful in the development of Malawi. The President made the remarks during an interface ha had with the Commissioners for NPC at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe. In his remarks, Chakwera asked the NPC to consider holding its Conference at an appropriate time for participation of many stakeholders, saying the Commission is an instrument to help fostering tangible development in the country. NPC chairperson, Richard Mkandawire thanked the President for supporting the operations of the Commission, adding that President Chakwera should use it as a key ally in propelling the country’s economy. Mkandawire has since extended an invitation for President Lazarus Chakwera to grace the Commission’s conference.
