Chakwera describes late Banda as a patriotic citizen

President Lazarus Chakwera has said that the late Lucius Banda was a patriotic citizen who served the country with passion through his music, describing Banda’s music as both entertaining, education, and advisory.

Chakwera said the late Banda had skills that prompted him to appoint Banda as an Advisor in his office on youth and arts.

Speaking on behalf of President Chakwera during the funeral service of late Lucius Banda at Balaka Stadium before his body was buried at his home Sosola village in Balaka on Thursday, 4th July, 2024, Minister of Local Government, Unity, and Culture, Richard Chimwendo Banda said President Chakwera is thankful to the services that Banda provided during his lifetime including as his Advisor.

“The President is thankful that Hon. Lucius Banda served with dedication and passion for the entire time he has worked in the office of the President. He offered fine advice to the President and his office.

Two years ago when the National Youth Service was established, late Lucius Banda played a great role to see it rolling” said Chimwendo on-behalf of the President.

On his part, Johny Zembani Banda, the First born son of late Lucius Banda, described his father as loving and hard working who always encourages his children to love each other and work hard in life to achieve goals.

Lucius Banda, popularly known as ‘Soldier’ for his fight for the poor and justice died on Sunday 30th June,2024 in South Africa at the age of 53.
