Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has expressed commitment towards

working with the Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions (SACAU).

Speaking during its annual conference at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe, Chakwera said SACAU remains a relevant and important tool towards achieving the dream.

“SACAU plays a vital role. As a member country, Malawi is committed to working closely with SACAU to advance our common goals because it is only together that we can create a more resilient and prosperous agricultural sector for all,” he opined.

The President said the Malawi 2063 Vision is to become an inclusively wealthy middle-income economy that is self-reliant and industrialised.

He said that the foundation that Malawi is laying now is the first step towards achieving that.

“We place a high premium on the value of our SACAU partnerships to help in reaching the destination,” he said.

He said even though Malawi has suffered so much in the past four years and that no matter what obstacles lie in our path, our victory and prosperity as a nation are guaranteed.
