Malawi leader President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, on Tuesday received letters of credentials from 7 non-resident diplomats at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe. The envoys that presented their letters included Mr. Emmanuel Bugingo from Republic of Rwanda, who will be based in Lusaka, Zambia; Mr. Fahad Rashid Saqr Al Marekh from the State of Quatar to be based in the United Republic of Tanzania; Mr. Per Lingarde from Republic of Sweden to be based in the Republic of Zimbabwe and Mr. Rida Nebais from People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria who will be based in Maputo, Mozambique. Mr. Roland Beridze from Georgia, Mr. Sagour Youssouf Mahamat Itno from the Republic of Chad, and Ms. Joan Elaine Thomas Edwards from Jamaica. lso presented letters of credentials and they will all be based in Pretoria, South Africa. Since assuming power, the Chakwera led administration has established strong bilateral ties with alot of countries to help Malawi advance it’s interests, build mutual understanding, and create opportunities for collaboration. Speaking on behalf of the envoys, Ms. Joan Elaine Thomas from Jamaica said as the first High Commissioner to Malawi, she will work hard that the two countries work together in the areas of Sports, Tourism and cultural exchanges.
