MCP Holds Successful NEC indaba , fills Key Positions

The Malawi Congress Party on Wednesday held its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting where the party discussed and deliberated on a number of issues, including the restructuring of political regional boundaries.

During the meeting , the party announced the appointment of Hon. Emmanuel Chambulanyina Jere, MP for Mzimba South, as First Deputy Secretary General with immediate effect.

The position fell vacant following the recent resignation of Hon. Gerald Kazembe, MP.

Party officials say Hon. Jere’s appointment marks a new chapter in the MCP’s administrative leadership.

The party has extended congratulations to Hon. Emmanuel Chambulanyina Jere on his elevation to the role.

MCP is working hard to rebuild the party in preparation for the 2030 general elections, following the loss experienced in the September general elections.

The indaba has just been concluded.The party has not discussed anything on succession plan since the meeting was not a convention.
