President Lazarus Chakwera on Saturday, 25th February 2024 was among the Heads of State who attended the memorial service of late President Hage Geingob of Namibia in Windhoek.

On his departure from Malawi through Kamuzu International Airport on Saturday morning, President Lazarus Chakwera told the nation that the death of the former Namibian President, Dr. Hage Geingob is a great loss to Africa, urging African leaders to mourn his departure in solidarity.

Speaking to Media before flying off, Chakwera accompanied by the country’s First Lady, Madame Monica Chakwera, said he was grieved by the death of Geingob, describing him as one of the great leaders.

The memorial service of late President Geingob who died on 4th February 2024 was held at Independence Stadium.

Meanwhile, President Chakwera is expected back home this evening.
