The launch of the Malawi Transport and Land Compact, set to run until 2029, marks a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards economic growth and prosperity. This historic compact will transform Malawi’s transportation network, boost agricultural productivity, and promote private sector engagement. President Chakwera’s tireless efforts to strengthen governance and rule of law have paid off, as demonstrated by Malawi’s high score in the American Government’s assessment. This achievement is a direct result of his administration’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for investment and development. Malawi Congress Party Secretary General, Eisenhower Mkaka, commended President Chakwera for his statesmanship and visionary leadership, which has garnered donor confidence and support. Member of Parliament for Lilongwe South Constituency, Peter Dimba, expressed optimism about the project’s impact on his community, saying, “This road project will enhance the welfare of our people and facilitate trade and transportation growth.” Senior Chief Masumbankhunda on the other hand, praised President Chakwera’s good governance and development initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic livelihoods and ensuring food security.
