President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has commended the elective convention committee for the tireless efforts towards achieving successful goals for this year’s convention. Speaking at the closing of a three-day convention held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, the Malawi leader said despite the presence of other obstacles, the committee and others members who own businesses have tried their level best to reach and achieve a successful goal. He also condemned the plundering of tax payers money for elective convention which the past administrations have been doing. “My administration is using tax payers money to build resilient infrastructure development including roads and procurement of medicines in our hospitals,” he said. He therefore encouraged those who have failed to make it for this year’s convention to join hands with the current committee towards achieving a landslide victory in the 2025 general elections. “I urge you all to work together even during primary elections, so that it should be fair and transparent for us to have touch-bearers who can work day and night and make us successful in the coming 2025 general elections,” the Malawi leader emphasized.
