In line with the servant leadership agenda, Malawi leader, President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera,.made a brief stop at the MRA Inland Examination Centre in Chirimba to get an update on the renovations taking place at the MRA facility.

Chakwera made the stop on his way to Chileka Airport ahead of his departure back to Mzuzu.

During a tour of the facilities President Chakwera advised MRA officials to assist importers and exporters in a professional manner, urging them to combat corruption and smuggling activities.

The President’s visit to Blantyre, which began on the 5th of March, encompassed a two-day duty tour, featuring events such as presiding over the inauguration of the International Blantyre Cancer Centre.

During the ceremony, President Chakwera highlighted the facility’s potential to reduce treatment costs for patients and eliminate the necessity for extensive travel.

President Chakwera also officiated the launch of the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) University Innovation Pod (UniPod), emphasizing the institution’s role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Subsequently, President Chakwera has returned to Mzuzu to resume his duties in the northern region, a commitment he initiated on March 1, 2024.
