Director of strategic planning in the Malawi Congress party Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has urged People in Karonga district to vote for MCP ward councillors in the coming by-elections for president Lazarus Chakwera to properly fulfil his development agendas. Zikhale’s sentiments comes as the Malawi Electoral Commission ( MEC) is on 26 March,2024 expected to hold by-elections in Karonga district to fill vacant positions in Chilanga,kapolo and Rukuru wards and MCP will be represented by Alick Ng’oma,King Mvula and Gift Mwakeru respectively. Hon Zikhale Ng’oma Speaking at the rally conducted at Baka ground, Zikhale said that Chakwera can properly fulfil development agendas if all the three councillors win. Zikhale said; Among other development projects for karonga district, Chakwera intends to construct wovwe Agricultural scheme which will be key in achieving food security. On his part Regional chairman for North North region Kezzie Msukwa said, people in Karonga and Chitipa districts will always support Chakwera because he has the welfare of the people in the region at heart. “My fellow karonga and Chitipa people we will be doomed if we lose Chakwera because he has shown that he really cares and supports us,” Msukwa said. Uladi Mussa also highlighted that Chakwera is the only president who can transform this nation should he be given a fresh mandate in the 2025 general elections. Meanwhile, Senior chief karonga has pledged to protect the government and people he serves.
